Hmm…

The Lord giveth and taketh away (Job 1:21.). This scripture has been our consolation since your demise, our Beloved Aunty Ronke.

Your departure from this side of eternity has humbled us, but we rejoice, knowing that your maker has called you home to sing with the saints.

To start with, thank you for accepting my biological sister (Mosunmola Agbeke) and welcoming her with love into the Idowu family. You never took her as a sis-in-law, but your sis-in-love. You also extended that love to me, by being the intermediary in my marriage, linking me up with my better half, and thereafter ensuring that I’m in safe hands.

As if that was not enough, since we got married you’ve been checking on us and sending words of encouragement and prayers, most especially on our wedding anniversary.

As I recall the story of my twin pregnancy in 2021…tears wouldn’t stop rolling. You being the only one we shared the news with at the time, you were genuinely excited and checking on us & praying for us daily.

As a matter of fact, I woke up to your prayers most mornings, inspite of the time difference. You sent the rccg prayer link to me and asked me to join the early morning prayers daily. You even ensured you sent me a daily reminder by asking “MOYOSTIC SE O TI JOIN PRAYER”

Hmmm…I recall when challenges arose during the pregnancy, you gave everything a mother could give to her daughter. You went all out for me trying to connect me with Daddy G.O ADEBOYE, when there was no means you made sure you connected me with one of the area Pastors to join me in prayers. But again…Job 1:21

Since then you never stopped encouraging me and reminding me of His words.

As if that was not enough, the love and care you showed us when our dad (Daddy Faj) passed on to eternity was massive. You stood by and with us. You called us daily from Nigeria to check on us and follow-up with the burial arrangements. You were so happy when we told you that we would have a Service of Songs here in US at our Church. You asked us to send you the link, and to our greatest surprise, you woke up and joined the program from the beginning to the end. On the Burial day in Nigeria, you messaged me apologizing for not attending as you were sick.

Moving forward, the thing that gives me joy ever since your demise is the fact that I had a deep conversation with you when I visited Nigeria for my Mum’s 70th birthday in April 2023. I thank God that I visited you at your house in Akobo. Thank you for the thoughtful and powerful words you spoke into my life. Few days to my return trip to Houston, your arranged and asked me to come pick foodstuff at your house… in your words “BA MI FI EJA KIKA DIN ATA SI OKO E LENU”

Thank you for believing in me, against all odds. I enjoyed seeing my pictures and comments on your WhatsApp status. This was the last message you sent to me.

“This is self lurve! Carry go Moyo! Nothing do you babe!! Celebration cometh! 🥰🎊❤️🥳🥳.

I will truly miss your kind words, Aunty Ronke.

Thank you for your selflessness, generosity and love, you have left a lot of virtues for us to emulate. You will be greatly missed and you will FOREVER BE IN OUR HEARTS. IT IS HARD TO SAY GOOD BYE, SO WE SAY – TILL WE MEET TO PART NO MORE, WE LOVE YOU BUT GOD LOVES YOU MORE.

Your darling aburos,

JIDE AND MOYO FAJUYIGBE.
