Tribute to Mummy

Hmm….dear Mummy, I never knew I would be writing this so soon, this should be done at least 40yrs time.
A soul like hers should not have gone this soon but God knows the best. Words enough can never express WHAT and WHO she was. She was an angel in human form (I never withheld telling she this). Her spiritual and physical energy were out of this world. A REAR Gem.
Mommy as I called her because she was, came into my life in 1989, just barely 3yrs after the death of my biological mother and since then she showered me with love, care and support. No wonder she named me ARIKE. Indeed, she cared for me. She and Daddy single handedly took care of my university education.

The woman I became today, is as a result of the training, admonition and great support she gave me. My first trip to the UK was solely made possible by HER and SUPER WONDERFUL husband. I could remember when preparing for my wedding, she gave and sacrificed all she could, to make the day a glorious one. She showed me the way of salvation and nurtured me. I am yet to see that person born of human that ever came across her and was not impacted by her love, care, support, admonition.

I will deeply miss all her favourite phrases “O se oko mi, O ku tie e, Omooba tin fasemutin, E soooeee, Gbojueesonu, Alabosi”. Ah! Year 2024 February, if I could see into the future clearly…Gbolade cried and wailed like a baby, asking why should someone so sweet die too soon. Aunty Labisi could not be comforted, she was devastated. I remembered how she would call me times without number and tell me “Tope bami dupe lowo Mummy Dammy o, she has brought/sent food stuff with cash again’’

Pastor Aderonke Mosuro’s love for the things of God could not be quantified. She served God with her strength and heart. She was indeed a good example of the woman described in Psalm 31. A woman full of faith, hope and love. She never took anything that has to do with God with levity, from Bola Memorial Church at Mobolaji Bank Anthony, to Dominion Sanctuary at Acme, to Solid Rock at Berger, to Kings Church in UK, Covenant Assembly in UK and Jesus Chancery in Ibadan (just to mention a few). She shone light on the path of many to see clearly.

She carried others people’s problems as if they were hers. She helped in proffering solutions to people’s problems within and outside her limit. Her house was always like a hostel. Times without numbers in her house in UK, she would leave her bedroom for family and friends to sleep and she herself, would sleep in the living room throughout their stay. She was an avid giver. Nothing is too big for her to give away.
It is yet to clear from my head and heart that you have left us. I’m still waiting for my phone to ring and you tell me “Arikeoko mi, we will be arriving tomorrow, passing the night at your place, hope you have collected my clothes from Dry Cleaner’’.
I would have hugged and kissed her a billion times in November 2023, if I knew that would be the last time I would see her again. I will forever cherish her. My HEART full of heaviness constantly think of her support, care, love and admonition. How I wish it’s her 60th birthday party we are planning for…

Today, we are celebrating an AKANBI OMO (a dear child) who came, fought & conquered.
My heavenly RACE has gained 100% focus because I must surely make it when God calls me home, where we will again see and part no more and I will be able to hug you as long as I want. She has indeed left an unfillable VACCUM in our hearts, but I believe GOD almighty can never be wrong.

One thing is very certain, ‘’Heaven has gained a soul’’. Sleep on great Disciple of God, Sleep on, sweet, lovely and ever smiling mother.

Your E sooeee, Arike, Sikewe.
