Dr. Aderonke Olufunmilayo Mosuro
I hesitate in penning this tribute because it is a sad acknowledgment of the factthat you have truly moved on to a better place, a better glory, a better world, aplace where we are not able to share laughter with you in the immediate. It is sad because I, and everyone, will miss you so much. We, however, takesolace in the fact that you are really at peace, at God’s right hand, singingbeautiful hymns.
Mummy Mummy, your abrupt departure has left an ache, a void, a gap, ayawning that I will carry as a testament of your enduring and impactful legacyof unselfish love. Your love, your compassion and your willingness to beunselfishly generous is incomparable. You were serenely elegant yet very strong. You always carried with you adivine aura of love and a dimpled smile for every occasion. You were beautifulon the inside and outside, and everyone that encountered you was trulyblessed by your irresistible charm.
Oh, how I long to experience your feigned anger that is lighter than butteronce again. You could never hold a grudge. You were too nice to be broken. Ismile remembering all those “empty shakara” to discipline me.I am heartbroken. This feels like a bad dream. Why didyou have to leave sosoon?
Mummy Mummy, you loved Jesus. It was evident in all you did. You carried itproudly and it looked good on you. You demonstrated this to everyone. Youloved everybody, both old and young, man and woman, ‘onile’ and ‘alejo’. Youwere accessible to all and you gave to all.You loved your hubby to bits and your children were the very bright diamondsthat sparkled in your eyes. You rallied your family and embraced your in-laws.You were but one butappeared to be many.I call you “Mummy Mummy” because you instinctively took the place of my latemother. You gave me a priceless jewel in your adopted daughter, Temi. How
can we ever forget you?
Dearest Aronks, mama Damola, mama Anjola, mama Oluwatomisin…sleepsweetly in the bosom of the one that gave you briefly to us. I love knowingyou, I wish you had stayed for much longer.
Gbolade Thomas.
