Tribute

I stand here today to celebrate the life of a very, very, special woman of God. The daughter of Daddy and Mummy (Mami-My Mom) IDOWU, the sister to Larry, Ike, Deji, Ayo, Babajide and Bankole. The wife to a perfect gentleman – Strote (my dear brother), the mother of 3 most humble children, Adedamola, Anjolaoluwa and Tomisin. Mother in law to Eve and a loving grandma to Mayowa. I am very, very, proud to say Mummy Dammy was my sister (in-law). Mummy Dammy, I still struggle with the fact that I won’t be seeing you again, however, I am comforted with the fact that you are in heaven resting in perfect peace and watching over us.

I want to personally acknowledge your very kind attribute that is very exceptional among many others. It’s the fact that you cared more for “Others” than you even care for yourself sometimes. I will selfishly mention when our daughter – Morenike fell ill about twenty-five year ago, guess what? The very first person we turned to was Mummy Dammy. I am very glad we did. I strongly believe that her diligent and committed prayer and support kept us going then and now.

I have to mention Mummy Dammy’s generosity. I know she went over and above to help all those in need with any available resources she had at her disposal. I guess the simple way to put this is that her Legacy was to love others unconditionally. This was in deed sacrificial love. Mummy Dammy had a positive influence on me. I will not expand on that because it is very personal, but I am really grateful to God for this.
I affirm that Mummy Dammy strongly believed that we must love one another even more than we love ourselves sometimes.
Mummy Dammy, our very first sister-in-law. You positively changed the dynamics the very first day you were introduced to the family with your unmistakeable cheerful smile that was very reassuring that we were expanding our family with the addition of a new sister.
I am sure everybody will agree with me that your unique cheerful smile, was a clear indication of your genuine heart-warming love for everybody. You were selfless and caring, always thinking about others and going out of your way just to serve others. The love you had for the Mosuro family was sacrificial, which is unconditional love. I am sure the list is limitless. You were regularly referred to as “Big Mummy” which shows how highly esteem you were held.

Your selfless sacrifice and genuine love for family and friends is beyond human imagination.
You were a role model to all of us. The vacuum you left will be very difficult to fill.
