Sista Ronke

You were introduced to me as my boyfriend’s cousin more than thirty years ago. You simply accepted me immediately, welcomed me as if I was already a member of the family and remained an impartial in-law, always seeking to build bridges, as our friendship developed over the years.

Your legendary generosity knew no bounds, there was nothing too precious you could not give away. There was no distance too far that you could not be there for a friend. You were a reliable and dependable friend, always knew the right thing to do and found the courage within to do it. I can never forget the day you drove me from Kent to Cardiff and back to visit my Sister who just had a baby.

You were an encouraging educationist to the core. You would not allow me to give up on a PGCert I embarked on, even providing the child care support to make sure I completed the course when I wanted to give up after my husband went to work abroad.

As my Pastor, you demonstrated practical Christianity. You simply asked me to follow you as you follow Christ. What a great example you were, a selfless woman of God, propelled by love, empowering people to be whom God called them to be. Your life was indeed worthy of emulation, you touched so many lives positively. Your transition is an irreplaceable loss of a beautiful soul to us but the Heaven has gained an Angel.

You will be greatly missed, your legacy of love, resilience, unwavering faith and kindness will live on in our hearts.
