Permit me, ladies and gentlemen to say a little about our family friend- so dear to me and my wife. While I write this, I hold back my tears, and I am doing it with great effort. If I don’t do this, I will see it as an offense to a Beloved friend and moreover I feel that the tribute will be incomplete if I do not say the little I know about her.
Therefore I crave your indulgence while I say the little bit I know about her. Though very difficult to express as her personality beggars belief. Pastor Ronke was a multi- dimensional person. Very complex and complicated but very good without a taint of evil. Her wisdom and experience in interpersonal relations is beyond the measure of reasoning or intelligence. Her qualities and character beyond the reckoning of arithmetics and her love and kindness beyond the eloquence of words. Let it be said of her, difference makers are themselves different. She was in a class of her own very unique but all good and excellent.
Now as touching her spirituality and religion, can that really be captured in words? She was an epitome and exemplar of a Christian. This is no exaggeration, I say the truth about her. Touching her love for her Saviour, she had no comparison. She made Christianity real and believable, and a real lifestyle. She was a woman aglow for God, radiating the love of Christ wherever she went with and infectious smile. She burned with zeal and enthusiasm, fervent in heart and love for her Saviour and His people. Touching strength, indefatigable. Concerning zeal, unflagging. In everything and everywhere concerning God and His kingdom you have found an exemplar.
Take for an illustration, a program is coming up, might be a vigil, conference or training. If you adduce any reason for not going to attend. Her popular retort is, ‘Receive strength.’ Moreover, she will be there to pick you up for the meeting so you have no excuse but to go with her.
Can I make an open confession? She is the reason why I joined the Rccg in the UK, no more no less. Without her I would not be in Rccg today.
Her life can be summed up in the word of Apostle Paul in Phil.1:21, ‘For me to live is Christ and to die is gain.’ This is why her life is a challenge and a message to all and sundry. What are we living for? ‘She fought a good fight, she finished her course, and she kept the faith.’ 2Tim.4:7. ‘…Yea, said the Spirit, that they may rest from their labours; and their works do follow them.’ Rev.14:13.
A word of consolation to the husband , Mr Ayodeji Mosuro, (words cannot describe your losses), to the children, the family members and to all her friends, let us be rest assured that this is but a temporary parting. Though painful, we shall see her again where we would part no more.
Pastor Ronke, Olubobo Pastor as we fondly call each other, our family confidant, you are no more at the other end of the line for counselling and for prayer. It is very difficult to contemplate. Rivers of tears flow from my eyes even as I write this. But God understands. Rest on Beloved, rest on in the bosom of your Maker, Adieu Pastor Ronke, we shall meet again and part no more. Our lives are far better for knowing you. You will ever remain in our hearts both to die with and to live. Adieu my Pastor.
