Tribute

Aunty Ronke,
Thank you for being my Angel on this earth. You are the reason that my faith is so strong. You taught me to understand who I am in Christ and to see myself as He does. You taught me that He loves me despite myself so how dare I not love myself the way that He does.
I will forever miss your physical guidance and counsel. The words of life and love that you spoke over my life and Lara’s life, were often the reason I got up in the morning with a bounce and conviction that I am a child of God and I am worthy of everything He wants for me.
Your energy was infectious and I have so many fond memories of our time together. I still remember you teaching me how to cook fried rice before I got married and I still cook it the same way. Losing your physical presence on this earth has been a blow but I am so happy that you are at peace and are at home with your Daddy and mine. Please tell them hello for me. I smile when I think about the welcome you got when you arrived at the gates of heaven.

I heard God saying ‘Welcome home, my good and faithful servant’ and I saw Angels in traditional and drums playing for you because you deserve it all. You brought so many people to know and love God Ma. Thank you for being a saint, a mother to so many of us and a light on this earth. You will be missed immensely but I feel you every single day and know that you will forever be with us in spirit. Thank you for your beautiful children, who I am blessed to call my cousins. You raised 3 angels that I will forever love and support. You left sooner than we expected, wanted or needed but I know you are in a better place. Even though it hurts so much, I will continue to take comfort in that.
