A Tribute to my Dear Sister

I am still in shock and deeply pained. Ah! This is a bad dream that I need to wake up from!
Who will be our Aronky now?
Who will call me Amoke again in that loving, accommodating way?
Though you were my Sister-in-Law, You took me like your flesh and blood. You treated me not just like an aburo, but loved me sincerely as well Auntie mi. That was way before marriage to Dejman made me a part of your family. You were always a phone call away, ready to give a helping hand. Slept on the hospital floor just to be with me when I had surgery, Which of your acts of benevolence to me and my siblings do I mention?

Do I talk about your guidance, prayer times, Bible study, gifts, sacrifices…ah!!
You were detailed and observant; you knew and loved all my friends. Where do I start from now? Who can understand my pain?
How do I even begin to talk about you in past tense?

I wish that God could have spared your life. If just for a few more years to create fonder memories. I doubt that time can ever make this loss less painful. You were my unflinching defender at every turn. So rest in peace Auntie mi, my dearly beloved Aronky. And thanks for all you’ve done, not just for me, but for everyone who crossed your path on this earth. A great daughter of Zion has bowed out. I know God will give you the crown and mansion you’ve truly won. You were selfless, Christ-like, sincere, and loving. You were simply a fantastic soul. This hurts so much!

I will miss you dearly Auntie mi. I know you are precious in the sight of the Lord. I will treasure your fond memories…till we meet again.
