Tribute to my dear sister.

Maami, as I fondly call you, same as I call our mother because you were not just my sister but a mother. You cared and pampered me as if I was a teenager. It fills me with so much sadness putting this piece together to celebrate you. You were one in a million. Your love to me and my family was second to none. It is hard to accept your departure and my heart hurt. I have been having flash backs. I can never forget you.

You practically led me to Christ with your ways and guidance. I remember when I wanted to “japa” but was troubled in my spirit. I came to you as usual for directions and support. You refused to speak for me but guided me to God and that I should ask for a sign, that God that sees my yearning heart will answer. And he did. That was a turning point in my life, getting to know our God and walking with Him.

Your sacrifices were unequalled. I remember the shirts, the trousers you bought for me in my last years at the University. When I started my first job too, you went to Yaba by yourself and stocked my wardrobe. How many will I talk about? You were my go to person in every situation, a solid rock, a dependable mother, sister and friend.

I love you beyond words can say. My heart breaks with every memory. I know God loves you more.

Thank you for everything.
